Stopped for a visit & photoshoot with San Francisco’s most famous shoeshine guy, Larry Moore. Larry shows up at Market & New Montgomery most mornings at 630…and spends up to 12 hours a day shining shoes, waving at old friends, and sharing his story (he keeps two chronicle stories about him tacked to his chair http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/03/09/BACE1NIF2F.DTL ). He’s tremendously articulate, reflective and hopeful about the future. He said, “I love San Francisco. Obama drove by and waved at me today. So many people have helped me and I’m doing better every day.” Lots of people make more money than Larry but Larry makes the city a better place for living here… Here’s to Larry Moore…and committing to getting better every day.
