Will we remember Picasso?
It’s a dark & dusty 5am on the Giza Plateau. All at once, the amplified voices of a hundred muezzins call out morning Adhan. Although this rhythmic harmony is indecipherable to me, it’s urgency and passion are unmistakable. The layers of human history are more visible here than anyplace in the world. As the sun rises over the great pyramid for almost the two millionth time, I can’t help but wonder what will be remembered of our era in 5,000 years? It’s going to be one of those days.
