At the most northerly part of Svalbard lies Nordaustlandet and the long abandoned Swedish-Finnish-Swiss research station of Kinnvika.  It’s located a mere 600 miles from the North Pole.  It was built for the International Polar Year of 1957-1958.  For the briefest of moments, the sun broke through the clouds above the station and everything glowed.  Then the clouds regained their mastery of the polar skies and gloom once again descended over the station.  Contax 645.  Portra 400.
