Exploring the Earth’s Most Remote Places with Photojournalist Christopher Michel

7:30P – 9:00P
Please log in to purchase tickets.

Photojournalist Christopher Michel has traveled to the ends of the Earth. From the North Pole to Antarctica and even 70,000 feet up into near space. The photographs and stories he’ll share from his travels will bring new perspective and extend our knowledge of the “Big Here” and the journey to get there.

Christopher Michel is an accomplished photojournalist who has documented extreme locations like Mt. Everest, Papua New Guinea, DR Congo and the edge of space (aboard a U-2 Spy Plane). He’s also had the opportunity to photograph several global leaders including the 14th Dalai Lama. His photographs have been used by National Geographic, the Smithsonian, the New York Times, the BBC, Outside Magazine, and others and appeared on the covers or front pages of a wide range of publications. He was formerly Photo Editor-at-Large for The Bold Italic and has published a number of fine art books. *This talk is part of a series at The Battery curated by Alexander Rose, founder of the The Interval and director of The Long Now Foundation. — view on Instagram
